RESOLUTION

INTERIM TITLES
 For Female Boxing

BACKGROUND

In the past we had a lot of difficulty coming up with a mandatory contender interested or willing to fight the champion and were forced to allow the champion to fight the best available contender without being able to enforce the mandatory rule or force the champion to fight a certain contender. Therefore, in order to establish a mandatory contender in each of the divisions, the following has been adopted effective immediately:

RESOLUTION

In order to determine a Mandatory Contender in each of the divisions, the Female Committee may order an Interim Title fight to be disputed between two qualified contenders.

The new Interim Champion will be the Mandatory Contender to the Champion.

The mandatory period for defense of the Title has been extended to 9 months instead of 6 months, which was the current regulation to defend the title.

The Champion must defend the title against the Interim Champion every 9 months.

A Champion who has defended the title five consecutive times will have the Mandatory period extended to 18 months.

The Champion and Interim Champion are allowed to engage in a voluntary fight up to 60 days prior to the Mandatory date, at that point the Champion and Interim Champion must commence negotiations.

If after a reasonable negotiation period (30 days) the parties cannot reach an agreement, the Championship Committee will call a purse bid.
The purse bid procedure will be conducted under the current rules used by the WBA. The disbursements of the bid procedure must be as follows:

75% Regular Champion vs. 25% Challenger
50% each for vacant titles, either Regular or Interim
55% for the Champion vs. 45% for the Interim Champion

The Champion must participate in a mandatory fight with the Interim Champion. Failing to do so, she will be stripped of the title and the Interim Champion will be recognized as the new Champion. If at the time for a Mandatory Defense there is neither an Interim Champion nor a Mandatory Contender in place, the Champion will be allowed to defend the title against any of the ranked boxers at the time, within her division.

The Interim Champion must participate in a mandatory fight with the Champion, failure to do will result in being stripped of the Interim Champion title and a new Interim Championship bout will be ordered. Meanwhile the current Champion may defend the title against the highest available contender in the ranking at that time, in her division.

In the event that the Champion or the Interim Champion is not available to defend their title for medical or legal reasons on the prescribed date, they will be placed as Champion or Interim Champion in “Recess”. In case of Medical Reasons, they will have to provide Medical Report by a Physician recognized by the Boxing Commission of their jurisdiction; if it is a Legal reason they will have to submit proof that they are involved in a legal dispute.

In the event that the Champion is in “Recess”, the Interim Champion will be allowed to fight for the regular title against the highest available ranked boxer in the division.
In the event that the Interim Champion is in ”Recess” the Championship Committee will order a new Interim title Championship to be disputed between two ranked boxers.

The Champion or Interim Champion that were placed in “Recess” will not be allowed to remain in “Recess” for more than six (6) months from the date she was declared “In Recess”. If the Champion in Recess is not available to return within the six (6) months allowed by the rules, she will be removed of her status of Champion in Recess and temporarily removed from the Ranking. The ex Champion  be allow to request Ranking to Challenge for their previous title as soon as they are available to fight again.
